Dr. Constantine Tarawneh shares his experience in building the The University Transportation Center for Railway Safety (UTCRS) that was established in the Fall of 2013 and operates as a consortium of three institutions, namely; The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) – Lead Institution, Texas A&M University (TAMU), and The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). He discusses the principle of building gradually over time from a small grant to larger ones working with private industry.
In this video series, we interview people who have successfully obtained external grants for research or development programs. We ask them to share their experiences and provide advice on how they navigated the process of applying for a grant, complying with its guidelines, and supplying deliverables to the funding agencies.
The mission of the series is to generate information that will inspire University faculty, staff, and students to seek out funding opportunities and apply for grants at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
