Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
The UTRGV's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is specifically charged with the responsibility to assure the humane care and treatment of animals used or intended for use in all research, research training, experimentation, teaching, biological testing, or for related purposes involving live vertebrate animals.
UTRGV's IACUC request that a 'notification of work' be submitted if you plan to use invertebrates in your research.

You must be a registered user in order to have access to the tick@lab site. The site uses a single-sign on method with your UTRGV credentials. If you are unable to log in (i.e. access denied) please submit an access request form through IT.
IACUC Protocols with an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) component should have approval from the IBC prior to submission to the IACUC. IBC protocols must be submitted 10 days prior to the meeting dates and inquiries directed to ibc@utrgv.edu.
All IACUC applications and forms must be submitted to IACUC electronic system, tick@lab. Please include all supporting documentation for your research and/or request. All applications are finalized with an electronic PI Certification.
