OneCard

One Card Program

Welcome to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's Credit Card Program. The Credit Card Program is authorized by the State of Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts through a contract with a credit card bank. The Credit Card may be used with any vendor that accepts MasterCard as a form of payment.

The Credit Card Program is authorized by a State of Texas contract with Citibank via the Texas Procurement and Support Services (TPASS). The Credit Card combines the functionality of a traditional purchasing card with the functionality of a travel card allowing authorized employees to use the Credit Card for purchase, travel, and business expenses. This program will reduce the time and effort required to make payments for university purchase s and reduce out-of-pocket expenses. The use of the Credit Card does not exempt the university or its officers and employees from the purchasing/travel requirements of state and federal law and the TPASS. The Credit Card will be issued in the cardholder's name with the State of Texas emblem and the wording "Official Use Only" clearly indicated on the card. What is a One Card?

The One Card is a convenient travel, hospitality and purchasing tool intended to reduce your need to carry multiple cards while conducting UTRGV business. You can use the One Card for the following:

  • Expenses for authorized travel on behalf of UTRGV, subject to UTRGV travel guidelines
  • Certain hospitality expenses while conducting UTRGV business (e.g., business meals)
  • As a payment card for goods and services within monthly and single purchase limits

 

Who can apply for a One Card?

Fulltime faculty & staff can apply for a One Card.

 

Is training required?

  • Each participant (cardholder, reconciler and project manager) is required to complete training prior to receiving card.
  • All existing participants (cardholders, reconcilers, and account managers) are required to complete the annual card training via Blackboard. Periodic refresher training can also be taken on-line at the user's convenience.
  • New account managers and reconcilers assuming responsibility over existing cardholder accounts are also required to complete training.

New Applications

Interested in becoming part of the One Card Program? Create a new entry and complete required trainings (will be emailed separately).

Receipt Acknowledgement

Did you just receive your new One Card? Create a new entry to acknowledget that the card is in you possession and activated.

  

Increase Request

UTRGV monthly limits are as follows:

Single Swipe: $5,000    Monthly: $15,000

Create a new entry to request an increase if you will be exceeding the limits during the bill cycle (4th of the month to the 3rd of the month).

Cancellation Request

 Changing departments,  leaving the university, or no longer need a credit card? Create a new entry to request to cancel your card.

Amazon Business: Benefits

We are excited to provide this added-value service, which will increase visibility into Amazon transactions, provide greater reporting and analysis capabilities, and increase security of OneCard transactions. This new program simplifies your purchasing process and allows you to take advantage of Amazon’s wide product selection and competitive prices.

Additional benefits include:

• Automatic tax-exempt purchasing on items sold by Amazon.com LLC and participating 3rd party vendors
• Access to millions of additional products, available only to Business customers
• Business-specific pricing, including quantity discounts on eligible items
• Access to a specialized Amazon Business Customer Service team

 

Amazon Business: Structure

The university has transitioned to a single Amazon Business Prime Account. This allows us to build a structured layout of administrators and requisitioners customized to each college/department, while generating cost savings for your college/department and providing opportunities to leverage strategic sourcing. Individuals on campus are no longer allowed to procure memberships to Amazon Prime via their OneCards for business purposes.
