Instructional Methods Explained
When reviewing your courses, check the Instructional Method to confirm how your class will be delivered.
- Online Asynchronous
No scheduled meeting times. Students complete coursework independently within established deadlines. - Online Synchronous
Course meets online at scheduled times using video conferencing technology. - Hybrid/Reduced Seating
Combination of online coursework and scheduled in-person sessions. - Traditional Face-to-Face
Course meets fully in person on campus.
How to Identify Online or Hybrid Courses in ASSIST
If you are interested in Online courses, select 'Online Asynchronous' or 'Online Synchronous' under Instructional Method in the search options.
If you are interested in Hybrid or Reduced Seat courses, select 'Hybrid' under Instructional Method in the search options.
