Welcome to UTRGV School of Nursing. For more than 50 years, UTRGV has been educating nurses across the Rio Grande Valley. Our mission is to educate individuals to meet the health care needs of a culturally diverse society. Our programs facilitate the development of competent practitioners, educators, and leaders within an interprofessional environment to provide holistic nursing care to individuals, families, groups, and communities. Our nursing faculty is committed to fostering research that enhances evidence-based practice and service to the profession. This commitment was clearly evident at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, our nursing faculty quickly identified and implemented alternative ways to deliver nursing education that enabled us to continue to serve our students and the community. Now more than ever, our nursing profession must strive to provide optimal, holistic health care to a diverse community. UTRGV School of Nursing is committed to educating the next generation of nursing professionals at the pre-licensure, master’s, and post-master’s levels.
