Resources for Faculty


The Research and Instruction librarians provide access and information that connect faculty to resources that promote research and scholarship. Librarians are ready to assist in faculty collaborations that foster research-based instructional assignments and projects for your classes.

The Library Instruction Request Form may be used to initiate all faculty requests for library services and instruction. The request is automatically routed to the Research and Instruction librarians for assistance and scheduling instructional sessions.

Instructional classes may include faculty-requested instruction, citation workshops, bibliographic management tools, database searching and electronic resources. Instructional sessions can be tailored to appropriately support the research needs of your classes and students.

If you choose an in-person session, the location of the classrooms are below:

The Research and Instruction librarians can design course Research Guides to steer students toward specific resources and tools that are most appropriate for your course needs.

Research Guides are customized to reflect what is available through the UTRGV University Library both electronically and in print. Research and Instruction librarians can design course Research Guides to steer students toward specific resources and tools that are most appropriate for your course needs. The Research Guides may be embedded into Blackboard for use by students for research and supplement resources. Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that come in a variety of formats and can reside in many different locations. The OER website will provide information on Open Educational Resources and methods and resources you can use to locate learning materials that can best fit the instructional needs for your courses and students.

Customized video tutorials may cover database overviews, citation tools, research techniques, searching tips, and advanced library resource identification.
