Install Software on UTRGV Computers using Software Center

To download software using Software Center:

For UTRGV Microsoft Windows computers:

  1. Log in to your computer.
  2. Search Software Center on the lower left of the Taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Click Software Center
  4. Select the Name of the software you want to install. 
  5. Click Install.

For UTRGV Mac OS computers:

Submit a Service Request to the IT Service Desk for a software download/installation.

  1. Log in to
  2. Click the ServiceNow icon under Applications.
  3. Click Service Request under Need new service?
  4. Select Self or On Behalf of under Options.
    • NOTE: Select On Behalf of, if you're opening a request on behalf of someone else.
  5. Select Name of person requesting the service.
    • NOTE: Your name is the default. If you're submitting a request on behalf of someone else, click the magnifying glass search icon to search for their name. Verify the user you selected is correct by hovering the mouse pointer over the User Information icon.
  6. Enter the Contact Number of the person requesting the service where they can be contacted directly for a follow-up.
  7. Enter the City, Building, and Room location where the requested service is needed.
    • NOTE: This information is necessary to ensure a technician is dispatched to the correct location.
  8. For Configuration Item, enter only if known.
  9. For Short Description, enter Software Download.
  10. For Service Request Description, enter the name of the software to be downloaded/installed/purchased.
  11. Click Order Now.

Software NOT listed under Software Center must be ordered and purchased through iShop:

  1. Log in to
  2. Click the iShop icon under Applications.
