Robert Allen
Executive Director of Academic Services
Robert Allen is the Executive Director of Academic Services at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). Mr. Allen oversees the Information Technology (IT) Service Desk, Desktop Support, Computer Labs, Classroom Support, Audio-Visual Support, and Faculty Research Computing Support.
Prior to joining UTRGV, Mr. Allen held a number of professional positions in the areas of healthcare, transportation, financial services, oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, and education. With over 20 years in industry, he brings with him a wealth of experience as a senior information technology leader with an extensive breadth of technology.
Mr. Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University. He holds a number of professional certifications in Agile and Scrum Foundation, Cloud Computing Foundation, HIPAA /HITECH/SB300 Awareness, ISO 27002 Security Foundation, Lean IT Foundation, and ITIL V3 Foundation in IT Service Management (ITSM). He is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI).
