This grant will be available for International Students that will be enrolled for Summer 2020. Recipients of this grant will be awarded $1,000 for this upcoming summer session(s). Purpose
To enhance graduate research, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) will competitively award up to 50 new Presidential Graduate Research Assistantships (PGRAs) to outstanding students from around the world joining its research-based Masters programs.
Eligibility
PGRAs are available only to new, full-time graduate students who will enroll in research-based graduate programs in Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semester, and will conduct research resulting in a thesis and peer-review publication(s). Continuing UTRGV graduate students are not eligible. The Good Neighbor Scholarship (GNS) Program is designed to encourage academically talented students from the countries of the Western (American) hemisphere (other than Cuba and the U.S.) to pursue higher education in the State of Texas. Thus establishing a beneficial link between the State of Texas and the home country of the students.
The IME Becas is a program funded by the Mexican government to assist students of Mexican origin who wish to further their education in the United States; the purpose of IME Becas’ Program the Mexican government wants to facilitate the academic and professional development of Mexicans students in the United States.
The Texas Public Educational Grant Program is a need-based financial aid program available to students at Texas public colleges or universities. To apply, you must complete the FAFSA. To be eligible, the student must be a Texas resident, non-residents, or foreign student, he will also have to demonstrate financial need as well as to register for the Selective Service or to be exempt from this requirement. Each institution may set its own priorities in making awards to undergraduate or graduate students; to full- or part-time students. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply. The financial aid office at the college or university the student applied to will notify the student if he/she is eligible.
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize outstanding International female student with exceptional academic achievements and community/school involvement.
The “I am Buddy” program has been created to welcome international students and assist them upon arrival to the Rio Grande Valley. The assigned Buddies are familiar with the student life and are looking forward to helping international students get comfortable and acquainted with our campus and the town. This is a great opportunity to meet, socialize, and create networks with students and future professionals from all over the world.
The economic subsidy program for Mexican students is a benefit granted by the State of Texas to Mexican students. They are eligible with the opportunity to pay the corresponding tuition as if they were a resident of Texas. The student requires to provide personal / family financial documentations to verifies the need through a socio-economic study.
The Florence Terry Griswold Scholarship I is awarded annually by the Pan American Round Tables of Texas. This Scholarship, named in honor of the founder of the Pan American Round Tables, assists a female student from one of the Pan American countries (other than the United States) in pursuing her studies in the state of Texas.
Applicant Qualifications:
An applicant must be a female student who is a native citizen of one of the Pan American countries (other than the United States) defined as those countries that comprise the Organization of American States/Pan American Union. She must hold a bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and be furthering her work on a master’s or equivalent degree at a state-supported college or university in Texas. Preference will be given to an applicant who will return to her native country and put her U.S. study and training to use there after completion of her graduate degree.
