Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is temporary employment authorization directly related to an F-1 non-immigrant status student’s academic program where the work done counts towards course credit for his/her degree.
Three requirements that must be met in order to be eligible for CPT
You must be authorized for CPT by the International Admissions and Student Services (IASS) and through Career Services before beginning any employment. All documentation is due at IASS 30 days before the start date of the semester.
Please build a profile for your internship by visiting the UTRGV Career Services website. All documentation needs to be turned in at Career Center.
The Request for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) form must be reviewed and completed by the student requesting CPT.
