HACU visits UTRGV Campus

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities headed by Dr. Alex Ramirez visited UTRGV on March 26th and 27th for a symposium on Cyber Infrastructure. UTRGV’s staff and faulty provided tours for HACU Members of several of UTRGV’s Departments featuring high tech projects. Included in the tour was a visit to the High Performance Computing Cluster located in the TMAC building.

High Performance Computing Cluster used in Fuel Cell Computations

Dr. Dimakis is using the UTRGV supercomputer cluster with the program CRYSTAL06 to calculate the efficiency of a platinum/platinum alloy anode catalyst in a methanol fuel cell in relation to the amount of carbon monoxide absorbed.
