Regional Science Bowl - Saturday, February 6

Regional Science Bowl competition via Zoom

10 South Texas high school teams competed in a virtual Regional Science Bowl competition, hosted by UTRGV, on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. Congratulations to the 1st place winning team, Science Academy of South Texas Team 1 from Mercedes; 2nd place winning team, W.B. Ray High School Team 1 from Corpus Christi; and all of the teams who participated! As the 1st place winning team, Science Academy of South Texas is now eligible to compete at the 2021 National Science Bowl and will be awarded $500 for their school’s STEM activities, courtesy of the National Science Bowl.

Science Academy of South Texas Team 1 from Mercedes includes: Coach Luis Gasca, David Chi, Alvaro Mayorga-Kintanar, Lovin George, Kashish Kumar, and Stephano Boyer-Paulet.

W.B. Ray High School Team 1 from Corpus Christi includes: Coach Ralph Robert Rogers, Jim Hsiang, Evan Hsiang, Abigail Fields, Lipika Mallik, Delwin Kim, and Fatema Abdulla.
