  • Ph.D. in Geology, 1974, Univ. Calif., Santa Barbara. Emeritus Prof. of Geological Sciences, 2001, Central Washington Univ. Currently Lecturer in Geology, School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences, Univ. Texas, Rio Grande Valley. Areas of interest include mineralogy, geochemistry, petrology and GIS. Experience with analytical methods for investigation of geological materials including ion and electron microprobes, XRF, XRD, and ICP. Recent studies centered on polymers and nanoparticles, volcanic ash deposits, and geochemical characterization of prehistoric lithic tools and pigments.
