Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study program provides eligible students with part-time job opportunities to help pay for educational expenses. These jobs are often on campus or with approved off-campus employers and are designed to accommodate your class schedule.

Work-study not only helps reduce the need for additional loans but also offers valuable work experience that can support your future career goals. To be considered, students must submit the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.

Participating in work-study can be a great way to stay engaged on campus, build your resume, and earn money while pursuing your degree.

Alert: UTRGV Student Employees can work up to 19 hours per week maximum. Any timecards submitted beyond 19 hours may negatively impact the student's financial aid awards. This is a resource to help the student and/or supervisor estimate how many hours a student may work.
