Vaqueros Vote is a nonpartisan coalition of UTRGV faculty, staff, students, and nonpartisan community organizations dedicated to increasing political and civic participation among the UTRGV community and increasing public awareness about the value of participation in democracy through the electoral process. Events and Activities
Patriot Day/National Day of Remembrance |
Annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. |
Constitution Day/Citizenship Day | Commemorates the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States on September 17, 1787. The day also recognizes all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens. |

A national holiday celebrating our democracy. It was first observed in 2012 and has grown in popularity every year. The celebrations and activities take place on the fourth Tuesday of September. |

Vaqueros Vote has partnered with TurboVote to make it easier for the UTRGV community to update your voter registration, receive election reminders, register to vote, and vote by mail. |

UTRGV partners with the Cameron County Elections Department and the Hidalgo County Elections Department to bring the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to become Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrars each year.
