Black History Month

Black History Month
Black History Month is an annual celebration from February 1st- February 28th. It is a time for recognizing the central role of Black people in history, their achievements, and the individuals who have paved the way. In recognition of the month, several campus events have been scheduled by the different campus partners.

Schedule of Events

The University Library is offering the following resources in honor of Black History Month:

  • Black History Month libguide that highlights and showcases library materials including books, ebooks, streaming films, journals, and databases.  To view, click here.
  • Virtual posters promoting resources for Black History Month, which are available to view and download by clicking here. Posters will also be on display at the 3rd floor of the Brownsville and Edinburg Libraries and are included in exhibits at Aaronson Library in Edinburg and at the Mario E. Ramirez, M.D., Library in Harlingen.
  • Black History Month Book Display at the 1st floor of the Brownsville Library.
