Joining a fraternity or sorority can be one of the most rewarding experiences you have in college. Membership in a values-based organization provides opportunities to form bonds and friendships that last a lifetime. Having the opportunity to interact with other Vaqueros and the greater community is one of the main reasons members choose to join. The fraternity and sorority community at UTRGV is strongly committed to the following values:

Community

We provide support to our Greek and local communities through outreach, fraternal bonding, and by being unified in our shared history, values and traditions.

Diversity

Our membership reflects the various identities seen throughout the Rio Grande Valley. We have a rich and robust history of welcoming all Vaqueros into the community. We are a group of unique individuals from different cultures who unite and connect students with similar interests to provide open and accepting friendships.

Leadership

We are student leaders who strive to maintain high standards by empowering others and taking initiative in our values-based organizations. We are role models who shape our community through leadership development, service and philanthropic efforts, and by practicing self-governance.

Philanthropy

As Greek organizations, it is our civic duty to raise awareness and give back to our community. We place high importance in making a difference to those around us by promoting the welfare of our various philanthropies.

Scholarship

UTRGV Greeks strive for educational excellence while incorporating high academic standards. Our organizations provide a strong foundation for us to be successful through perseverance and dedication, both academically and professionally.
