Summer 2020 CoBiVa Team
This summer, we are so thankful for our amazing CoBiVa team, funded in part by the National Endowment of the Humanities. Our 4 wonderful research assistants from Spring 2020 stayed on with us, and we added 4 new research assistants to the team!
Learn a little about our wonderful new RAs below:
Madeline (Maddie) Hernandez is an undergraduate English major with a concentration in Linguistics. She is currently in her last year and plans to graduate Spring 2021 and continue to a master’s program at UTRGV. Maddie was recently awarded the prestigious Engaged Scholar & Artist Award for 2020-2021 with José (Freddy) Jiménez. |
Nemecio Morales is pursuing a B.A. in Linguistics with a minor in Film Studies. He hopes to continue studying in a graduate program and teach English at some point in the future, possibly teaching abroad. |
Keila Rodríguez is currently in her last year as an undergraduate student pursuing a BA in English with a concentration in English Language Arts. She looks forward to graduating in Fall 2020 and plans on continuing her education at UTRGV with The Master of Arts (MA) in English as a Second Language program in Spring 2021. |
Mayte Vega Mudy just graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with an M.A. in English as a Second Language. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in English with a teaching certification for ELAR at the middle school level in Fall of 2017, and she's looking forward to becoming a teacher in the near future! |
