Theatre
Latino Theatre Initiatives, under the direction of Eric Wiley, has created current productions that focus on Latin American theatre, such as Lucero and the Giants, a new play for children featuring puppets inspired by the mojigangas of Mexico. UTRGV theatre students led by Latino Theatre Initiatives traveled to New York to perform an original, ensemble-based play at a juried, international theatre festival in 2018.
