Welcome to Assessment and Accreditation
The College of Education and P-16 Integration embraces a culture of inquiry for continuous improvement and collaboration with P-16 partners as reflected in its vision and mission.
UTRGV’s Educator Preparation Provider (EPP) unit is an overarching body that includes five colleges that collaborate on the development, delivery, assessment, and accreditation of all teacher preparation programs. The dean of the College of Education and P-16 Integration leads the EPP and promotes partnership building among colleges to collaborate in the preparation of teachers.
The UTRGV Educator Preparation Program is nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) meeting rigorous standards and processes for educator preparation through quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Two UTRGV College of Education and P-16 Integration counseling specialty areas for counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling (M.Ed. degree) and School Counseling (M.Ed. degree), are accredited by the Board of Directors of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) for a period of eight-years through October 31, 2026 by meeting the CACREP standards.
