Phlebotomy Technician Program

This 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.

This program is intended for those who have no experience and want to become employed as a Phlebotomy Technician in a clinical laboratory or public health department setting. The student should have or are on track to have their high school diploma or GED.

Prerequisite:
Students must have a high school diploma, GED, or to be on track to receive either of those. Participants must also possess a minimum 10-grade level math and reading skills as well.

Note: Persons must be at least 18 years old to sit for the national certification exam after completing this course.
