Greater Texas Foundation Scholars Program

The Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) Scholars Program provides cohorts of early college high school (ECHS) graduates with individualized academic support services and financial scholarships for up to three years after high school graduation. Furthermore, the GTF Scholars Program provides Scholars with opportunities to actively experience campus life and become highly engaged in the civic welfare of the Rio Grande Valley.

Available spots are limited, making this a highly competitive scholarship program. The Fall 2019 Cohort has been finalized. Applications for the Fall 2020 cohort will be available in February 2020.

To be eligible to apply for this grant, a student must:

  • Be a class of 2020 graduate of a Texas TEA-designated ECHS
  • Have earned a minimum of 30 college credit hours
  • Be a Texas resident
  • Have been admitted to UTRGV for Fall 2020
  • Plan to earn a baccalaureate degree from UTRGV
  • Be eligible to apply for FAFSA
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 (on a 4 point scale) for college hours completed.
