Technology Resources

The Center for Online Learning & Teaching Technology (COLTT) is partnering with B3 to provide important technological resources for your Spanish or bilingual class.

Request a Spanish Blackboard Shell

  1. Visit the Ask COLTT support page.
  2. Click on the “Create Case” button.
  3. A popup titled New Case will appear, with the ticket’s form.
    1. Add your information to the fields listed below:
      i.      UTRGV Username
      ii.      First Name
      iii.      Last Name
      iv.      Phone Number
      v.      Email Address
    1. User Type: Select Faculty/Staff
    2. Service Type: Select Online
    3. Request: Select the first option “Blackboard Support”
    4. Request Type: Select Course Template Assistance
    5. Course Name: Enter the course you would like a course template applied to it.
      i.      Example: ENGL-1301-90L-Spring2022
    1. Preferred Method of Contact: Select either phone or email
    2. Case Summary: Enter “Requesting course copy of template”
    3. Case Details: Enter “Requesting the [template name] to be copied into my course, ENGL-1301-90L-Spring2022”.
      i.      Key in the template name found within our Faculty Support webpage. Example: Plantilla de 16 Semanas en Español

 

Captioning Spanish Language Videos 

The COLTT team has developed a step by step tutorial on how to create Spanish language captions in Panopto. View the tutorial here.

If you have more questions or would like to talk about issues or options for online learning and teaching technology for your Spanish or bilingual course, feel free to reach out to one of UTRGV's excellent Instructional Designers.

    2. Service Type: [Selection will vary based on your preferred method (online, walk-in)]
    3. Request: Instructional Development/Design Support
    4. Request Type: Select 'Course Design' or 'Course Development'
    5. Course Name: Enter the course you are working on.
      i. Example: ENGL-1301-90L-Spring2022
    1. Preferred Method of Contact: Select either phone or email
    2. Case Summary: Enter “Consult for Spanish/Bilingual Course"
    3. Case Details: Enter “Requesting consult for Spanish/Bilingual Course”.
      i. Key in the template name found within our Faculty Support webpage. Example: Plantilla de 16 Semanas en Español
