Office for Bilingual Integration

Vision

The Office of the Vice Provost for Bilingual Integration leads UTRGV to be the premier bilingual Hispanic- serving Research Institution (HSRI) in the United States setting the standard for a Bilingual HSRI Framework. 

Mission

To accelerate the expansion of UTRGV as a Spanish-English bilingual Hispanic-serving Institution reflective of the surrounding community. 

Main Goals

  1. Build on the human, linguistic, social, community, and economic assets of the Río Grande Valley and Texas to integrate bilingualism into the university’s core values of excellence, inquiry, discovery, and creativity.

  2. Lead in community engaged teaching, learning, research, and service to honor and sustain our linguistic past and transform our future.
