The Archer Program at UTRGV

The Archer Fellowship Programs provide opportunities to intern in our nation's capital while making progress toward your UTRGV degree program. A vibrant, exciting, and diverse city, Washington DC offers unparalleled opportunities for career development, network building, and cultural enrichment. Moreover, the program’s unique combination of academic and experiential learning allows students to combine their intellectual and professional interests in a challenging academic environment.

UTRGV Archer Fellows have interned with a variety of organizations in Washington DC, including:

  • The U.S. Congress, including individual representatives and senators as well as House and Senate committees.
  • Various agencies within the executive branch.
  • The Smithsonian and the National Gallery of Art.
  • Private-sector businesses including media, public relations, and communications firms.
  • Professional and scientific organizations such as the American Dental Association.

Archer Fellows, both undergraduate and graduate, are charged program fees (in lieu of tuition) and housing fees. Fellows' existing financial aid, along with support from the UTRGV Honors College and the Archer Center, typically cover the entire cost of the program and housing fees combined. Prospective Archer Fellows should attend an undergraduate information session or a graduate information session, or email archeradmissions@utsystem.edu with specific questions.
