Mission

The Office of Institutional Accreditation, Program Development, and Analysis (OIA) supports the mission of UTRGV by a) maintaining compliance with the principles, standards, and policies of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC); b) managing the process to ensure that all academic programs, both new and existing, align with policies and guidelines provided by the University, discipline specific accreditors, The University of Texas System (UTS), and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB); and c) supporting the completion of University reports for both internal and external constituents.

Specialized Accreditation mechanical engineering student In addition to UTRGV SACSCOC accreditation, many academic units hold accreditation from specialized or professional agencies.
Faculty Credentialing science faculty teaching on board In compliance with SACSCOC standards, UTRGV documents the qualifications of its teaching faculty on an on-going basis.
