As required by House Bill 2504, each institution of higher education, other than medical and dental units, is to make certain course information available to the public on the institution's website. UTRGV maintains compliance with this bill through the faculty web profiles, where information from the Faculty Portfolio Tool (FPT) is visible. On the faculty profiles, you will easily find:
- A syllabus for each undergraduate classroom course offered for credit by the institution, and a curriculum vitae for the instructor of record;
- Summarized course evaluations for each undergraduate course.
Pursuant to HB 2504, syllabi must:
Satisfy any standards adopted by the institution.
Be available by the 7th day of the term.
The syllabus template represented here satisfies the institutional standard adopted by UTRGV. Faculty must upload their syllabi to their course in the Faculty Portfolio Tool (FPT) no later than the 7th day of the term to maintain compliance. Any faculty member who does not maintain syllabus compliance for their undergraduate courses will not be eligible for merit in the following merit cycle.
