Message from the Interim Provost - May 5, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to share that Dr. Sandra Hansmann has agreed to step in as Interim Dean of the Graduate College at the end of the Spring Semester.

As you know, Dr. Hansmann has served as an Associate Dean with responsibilities for curriculum, student affairs, and campus-based programs in the Graduate College for nearly three years. Her goal as interim dean is to continue the great work she and the rest of the team have achieved under Dr. Parwinder Grewal’s leadership the last three years. During that timeframe, our graduate enrollment has grown more than 60 percent and reached an all-time high of 5,122 last fall.

Dr. Grewal will continue his work as Executive Vice President for Research and New Program Development, and we owe him a huge debt of gratitude for his leadership and willingness to serve as both EVP and Dean of the Graduate College.

None of our success in the Graduate College would have been possible without the commitment and dedication of our faculty, graduate program coordinators, chairs, deans, graduate college staff and marketing team. We thank all of you for your extraordinary efforts and look forward to building on this success. Please join me in welcoming Sandy as interim dean later this month.

Sincerely,

Janna Arney, Ph.D.
Deputy President and Interim Provost
