About the Program

Through a strong collaboration involving UTRGV’s College of Science and Mathematics and the College of Education and several independent school districts in the south Texas region, the Robert Noyce Scholarship Program at UTRGV, with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), aims to address the acute shortage of highly-qualified and certified high school chemistry and physics teachers in the South Texas region by enabling Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) majors to obtain a BS in Physical Science or BS in Physics or BS in Chemistry degree with 8-12 teaching certification.
