International Student Orientation for New Students - Spring 2017
This orientation program is designed to familiarize you with the UTRGV campus, school policies, federal regulations, and your responsibilities as an international students.
The orientations will be held on January 11th, at the Brownsville Campus (Sabal Hall 1.104) from 8 - 2pm, and January 12th in the Edinburg Campus (ESTAC 1.102) from 8 - 2pm.
The rich diversity that’s brought to UTRGV by international students is a crucial element of our special culture and a truly distinctive aspect of our community. We celebrate each other’s differences in a way that is welcoming and inclusive for everyone, while also embracing the fact that each and every student here is joined by a common desire for a world-class education.
The mission of the Office of the International Admissions and Student Services is to provide support to our UTRGV international student population.
Our services include:
Advising on international admissions requirements from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Conducting orientation and cultural events to help our international students to integrate and adjust to the new academic, cultural, and social life at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Serving as a liaison with our U.S. governmental agencies, U.S. Consulates, and sponsors that support international student education.
Connecting our international student population with the community, volunteer programs, student organizations, and campus services available to them.
