Engaged Scholars Symposium 2017 and Partners Awards

The ES2 2017 is the largest multidisciplinary gathering of undergraduate scholars in South Texas, held Tuesday, April 18 on the UTRGV Brownsville campus and Wednesday, April 19 on the Edinburg campus.

Goals of ES2 are to share and celebrate multidisciplinary undergraduate students’ research, creative works, and service learning projects, and to bring together students, faculty, and members of the community.

This unique conference enables undergraduate students to showcase what they have done during experiential learning (EL) experiences – opportunities for students to apply knowledge – which are important for student success.

More than 250 oral presentation and poster exhibits were displayed during the two days. With many students working in research teams, the number of student participants totaled about 687.
