Overview:
Responsible for directly supervising various UREC activities, including, but not limited to Sport Club competitions and practices, Outdoor Adventures programming, and open recreation.

Position Overview

To provide frontline marketing for University Recreation, with a special concentration on creating marketing campaigns and designing marketing instruments. This position is responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact.

Major Duties
  • Assist in developing new and innovative marketing strategies.
  • Develop designs by gathering information and data through research.
  • Contribute ideas and design artwork that supports the department mission.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, with an emphasis in design programs.
  • Coordinate with community and University resources to publicize the department.
  • Assist with photography and video.
  • Posts literature and signage promoting various department events, activities and programs.
  • Performed other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a current student or a student pre-registered for the upcoming long semester (fall/spring, min. 12 hrs). Student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Preferred

Minimum of three (3) months experience writing, editing, printing and using various software programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.

Position Overview

Act as a liaison between the student marketing team and the Marketing and Student Development Coordinator for University Recreation. Will help plan, coordinate, and execute marketing efforts in addition to designing projects for programming departments.

Major Duties
  • Contribute ideas and design artwork that supports the department mission.
  • Assist in developing new and innovative marketing strategies while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation of student employees.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, with an emphasis in design programs.
  • Develop designs by gathering information and data through research.
  • Coordinate with community and University resources to publicize the department.
  • Manage, track and report project requests
  • Responsible for reviewing all marketing designs, photography/video and social media.
  • Represent department at fairs and events on/off campus.
  • Performed other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a current student or a student pre-registered for the upcoming long semester (fall/spring, min. 12 hrs). Student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Minimum of six (6) months working knowledge of one or more of the following design programs: InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop. Have a specialization in one or more of the following: copywriting and social media, design, photo/video editing and archiving.

Preferred

Able to work on a Mac and PC. Creative mind to draw, design, and create balanced compositions to promote events, activities, and programs.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for assisting in the operations of a comprehensive marketing program. The GA will assist in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing efforts in the image and branding of the department.

Major Duties
  • Assist in the administration of the day-to-day operations of Marketing, including staff supervision, team and employee scheduling, staff training, policy writing, risk management, website development.
  • Assist in the image and branding of the department through the promotion of the departments facilities, programs, and services.
  • Contribute ideas and design artwork that supports the department mission.
  • Assist in developing new and innovative marketing strategies while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, with an emphasis in design programs
  • Manage, track and report project requests
  • Responsible for reviewing all marketing designs, photography/video and social media
  • Plans, develops, and provides ongoing training and student staff development programs based on specific program and/or department goals.
  • Develop and implement marketing procedures for consistency with University policy, Auxiliary Services practices and National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) guidelines.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on a month/semester/year basis.
  • Will assist with department special event as well as perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication or related field. Admission into the Graduate College. Demonstrated experience with the following design programs: InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop.

Preferred

Have a specialization in one or more of the following: copywriting and social media, design, photo/video editing and archiving. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

  • Create, design, and edit content for videos and photography.
  • Drive and support social media strategies (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.) to build a relationship with targeted audience.
  • Develop communications / public relations strategies with targeted media to build department brand as innovative and authentic lifestyle.
  • Manage, track and report digital campaign performance to present and implement recommendations.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop meaningful communication plans and represent department at fairs and events on/off campus.
  • Performs work in support of programing; demonstrates link between school life and recreational facility; participates in initiatives, programs or promotions with moderate visibility.
  • Contribute ideas towards design production that supports the department mission by gathering information and data through research to keep ahead of emerging trends.
  • Posts signage promoting various department events, activities, programs and services.
  • Performed other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a current student or a student pre-registered for the upcoming long semester (fall/spring, min. 12 hrs). Student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Preferred

  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

Position Overview

The position will help plan, coordinate, and execute development efforts in addition to designing projects that supports the department mission, Also, will assist with the day to day operations for the administrative office and provide direct support to the professional staff.

Major Duties
  • Assists in the management of blackboard trainings.
  • Assists in the management of student staff SharePoint site.
  • Assist and participate in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, mentoring and recognition of UREC employees.
  • Plans, develops, and provides ongoing training and student staff development programs based on specific program and/or departmental goals.
  • Assists in the management of student employee handbook and disciplinary database.
  • Perform general clerical tasks as necessary.
  • Receive all visitors to the administrative office; answer and redirect phone calls and take messages.
  • Use computer database and word processing programs; operate office equipment including printers, copier and fax.
  • Monitor website, ensuring that all information is accurate and communicated effectively, checking hyperlinks regularly.
  • Provide support for marketing and communication staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Performed other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a current student or a student pre-registered for the upcoming long semester. Student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. This position must have good interpersonal skills and be knowledgeable of the operations, services and programs of the department.
