Waiting for Sandoval
DANIEL ORTIZ is a sleazy car salesman with a history of lost opportunity, heavy drinking and deep depression. Ten years ago, as he trained for a career in the law, his fiancé, ALETA MORALES, joined the Peace Corps. When a death squad kidnapped and killed her in the jungles of El Salvador, a grief stricken Daniel abandoned the law and seized the bottle. Still haunted by surreal nightmares of her death -- a graphic execution in an orange grove -- Daniel visits the theatre at his old alma mater to see a play, Waiting for Sandoval. The production is a political piece set in Central America that Daniel would usually avoid, but he hopes that experiencing it will somehow kill the ghost in his head and end the nightmares. Directed by Prof. David Carren.
