UTRGV Urology Residency at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance

2020 Urology Group Picture

On behalf of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, welcome to our Urology Residency Program – the first surgical subspecialty training program in the area. We are in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, a culturally rich region situated on the border of the United States and Mexico with a population of approximately 1.4 million people!

Our program provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of a new urology residency program with faculty and staff that are committed to training and helping you meet your goals. In addition to providing you with a foundation in fundamental clinical skills, our program offers a wide range of learning experiences. The learning experiences include research and/or quality improvement projects, clinical teaching, and didactic activities. We strive to provide an excellent and safe learning environment using evidence-based medicine.

We are dedicated to the education of a diverse group of board eligible surgeons that will serve in all aspects of urology. Our team is committed to preparing residents for a career in either academic or private practice urology with the desire to bring hope to patients by advancing medical knowledge through research and improved outcomes through excellent care.

Our goal is to bring world-class healthcare to South Texas. By joining our residency program, you will be a part of history. Thank you for your interest in our residency!

Sincerely,

Gaudencio Olgin, MD
Program Director, Urology Residency Program
