Dr. Evan D. Perez graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas-Pan America (UTPA) in 2009. He received his Medical Degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2014, completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Houston, Texas, and completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso in 2018.
Dr. Perez serves as a board certified Primary Care Sports Medicine doctor at UT Health RGV, offering non-surgical care and treatmens for both adults and children.
Dr. Perez joined the UTRGV School of Medicine Faculty in 2018 and is an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine. He serves as a team physician for UTRGV Athletics, RGV FC Toros, and the NBA G-League RGV Vipers. He has also covered high school football, boxing, mixed martial arts, and mass participation events such as marathons and triathlons.
Dr. Perez is involved in teaching at the UTRGV School of Medicine and the UT Health RGV Knapp Family Medicine Residency Program.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs and staying active in an adult softball league. Dr. Perez is excited to return to the Valley and fulfill his dream of transforming healthcare quality for patients of all ages, while educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
