Dr. Evan Perez graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from The University of Texas-Pan America (UTPA) in 2009. He received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2014, completed his family medicine residency at the Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Houston, Texas, and completed his primary care sports medicine fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso in 2018.
He joined the UTRGV School of Medicine Faculty in 2018 and is an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine. He also serves as a team physician for UTRGV Athletics, RGV FC Toros, and the NBA G-League RGV Vipers. He has extensive experience covering high school football, boxing, mixed martial arts, and mass participation events such as marathons and triathlons.
At home, Dr. Perez enjoys spending time with his wife and his two dogs. As part of his commitment to staying active, he participates in an adult softball league.
Dr. Perez is excited to return to the Rio Grande Valley. He is a board-certified Primary Care / Sports Medicine Doctor at UT Health RGV and is dedicated to transforming healthcare quality for patients of all ages, while educating and training the next generation of leaders in medicine, research, and patient care.
