Profile: Elyssa Ruvio

Biography

Elyssa Ruvio is a Research Associate I in the Division of Population Health and Biostatistics. Her primary role focuses on managing the day-to-day activities of the Preventing Syphilis and Congenital Syphilis Project, including overseeing a regional taskforce of community-based organizations and public health agencies aimed at reducing the rates of congenital syphilis in the Rio Grande Valley. Elyssa is also a valued team member that supports other projects within the Maternal Health Research Center. Her work centers on addressing regional disparities and improving maternal and child health outcomes. Elyssa holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from UTRGV and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in clinical psychology.
