Angela Tanguma is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at UT Health RGV with a focused dedication to women’s health.
She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, The Menopause Society, and Texas Nurse Practitioners. In 2024, she became certified as a menopause provider by The Menopause Society.
Angela began her nursing career in 2005. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Texas at Brownsville in 2010 and later completed her Master of Science in Nursing–Family Nurse Practitioner at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2017.
With a special interest in women’s health for over a decade, Angela has devoted her career to providing comprehensive care for women. Since 2018, she has focused primarily on serving underserved women in the Rio Grande Valley. She has also played an active role in federal and state grant initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders and community partners to expand access to women’s healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable and underserved populations.
