Graduate Scholarships

The UTRGV Select Scholarship is a one-time award available for newly admitted graduate students for both traditional and accelerated online programs, who have not previously been awarded this scholarship or the former Graduate Dean's Scholarship.

Due to the generous contributions of corporations, foundations, organizations, and individual donations, these scholarships are awarded based on merit, need, and other various criteria.

The Graduate Resource Grant is available to Graduate students in both traditional and accelerated online programs (excluding medical doctor students).  Eligible students may receive up to $2,000.00 ($1,000 per Fall/Spring term) based on their financial need as determined by FAFSA.

The UTRGV Graduate Gateway Scholarship offers graduate students from all disciplines a great opportunity to help fund their studies at UTRGV. The award consists of a one-time, up to $2,000 scholarship for Summer 2024 (including Summer Module I and II).

Newly admitted (accelerated online and traditional) graduate students for Summer 2024 will be eligible for this scholarship. Students must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 hours per summer term or module. This scholarship may not be combined with any other UTRGV institutional scholarships or assistantships, such as the Sustainability Fellows, UTRGV Employee Tuition Assistance Program, Summer Graduate Resource Grant, or the Graduate Resource Grant-TPEG.

No scholarship application is required. Your eligibility will be determined by the UTRGV Scholarship team once you are admitted into your graduate program. To be considered, you must be admitted into your program by the priority application deadline. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

The Rio-South Texas Education and Community Development Foundation Endowed Scholarship offers graduate students a great opportunity to help fund their studies at UTRGV. Funds distributed from the endowment will be used to provide scholarships to students to increase attainment of Master and Doctoral degrees in the fields of Agriculture, Food, Natural Resources, Business, Finance, Marketing, Education, Health Science, Information Technology, Manufacturing, or STEM. Selected scholarship recipients must pledge to work in the Rio Grande Valley for each year beyond their graduate education that is funded. For example, a two-year graduate program would require a two-year pledge.
