This interactive workshop will discuss solutions to common problems in academic/industry partnerships and provide best practices for successful partnerships.
If you might ever partner with industry, ask yourself these questions now:
-
Is there commercial value in your scientific data?
- What happens when an industry partner wants access to our clinical data or materials?
-
Are you combining data sources in your innovations?
-
Is data sharing required for an equipment purchase?
-
Are you writing software as part of your research?
-
Are you using open source or free software?
-
Is your collaboration subject to European privacy protections?
-
If you have an emergency deviation from a sponsored drug protocol, who owns the findings?
- If you invent a better way to implement a sponsored protocol, does that belong to the sponsor?
-
Do you want to spin out a company using your innovation?
