We exist to work you through the maze of governmental contracting!
PTAC provides technical services through trainings and one-on-one counseling to persons interested in obtaining contracts with local, state, and federal governmental entities. PTAC helps businesses obtain state and federal certifications and understand the contracting process.
The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) was authorized by Congress in 1985 in an effort to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in the government marketplace. The UTRGV PTAC has been in existence since 2009 and we have helped in obtaining over $37 million in contracts!
Administered by the Department of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the program provides matching funds through cooperative agreements with state and local governments and nonprofit organizations for the establishment of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) to provide procurement assistance.
Client Requirements
- Have a primary place of business located in Texas.
- Provide data about the company and its ownership, which PTAC will not divulge.
- Agree to these expectations by signing a Request for Assistance.

Please note that because of the Social Distancing guidelines, all trainings and seminars have been postponed. Webinar information will be posted on our social media pages as they become available.
Understand that the UTRGV PTAC is open for business to support and assist. We are simply implementing some risk reduction procedures. Until then, take care and stay safe.
