PeopleSoft 9.2 Implementation

MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSOR
We are pleased to inform you that PeopleSoft training sessions have started. The first group included Time Keepers and Leave Administrators. PeopleSoft Super Users, who will be performing advanced budgeting, accounting, reconciling, purchasing, asset management and other key processes for their respective Division/Department/Office, have now been invited to attend training sessions starting in July. Other training topics will also be covered in July, August and in the fall semester.

Our training team has prepared a schedule, which can be found on our PeopleSoft Training and Resources Site, that includes the right materials for the right audiences at the appropriate times. We encourage you to review this information to learn when you may be attending a session.

Basic PeopleSoft training will be delivered through an online format in order to give users the flexibility to take it at their own pace. Also, the materials will be available if users need to refer to them again in the future.

Our Training Team has also been developing materials to help our campus successfully transition to PeopleSoft. Some useful reference materials now available are below:

If you are unsure as to when you will be asked to attend PeopleSoft training, we encourage you to reach out to us through our Contact Us form on our website (located here) or by sending an email to peoplesoft@utrgv.edu

Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter!

Rick Anderson
Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration

WHAT IS CHANGING WITH PEOPLESOFT?

PeopleSoft 9.2 is going to introduce many changes on September 1, 2018. Here is a list of some of the most important ones:

  • The FLUID Interface is going to provide a significantly different look and feel that is mobile friendly. Please watch this video to see how (Video is for illustration purposes only. Actual functionality in UTRGV's implementation will differ).
  • iShop will reside within PeopleSoft as a FLUID tile. Users will log into PeopleSoft in order to access iShop. Also, iTravel, PeopleAdmin, ePAF and several other systems will continue to be used with PeopleSoft.
  • Timecards and pay statements will have a different look and feel.
  • Employees will be able to submit Leave and Overtime requests.
  • Employees will be able to submit life event changes, such as adding or removing dependents due to qualifying life events, in Employees Self-Service (ESS).
  • Timekeepers and Leave Administrators will be introduced to help improve the timecard and leave submission process.

PROGRAM TIMELINE
Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financial Management Solutions (FMS) is going live September 1, 2018. However, certain users who need to purchase goods or services via iShop for fiscal year 2019 will be able to do so prior to September 1.
