PeopleSoft 9.2 Implementation Update

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley

PeopleSoft 9.2 Implementation

MESSAGE FROM OUR SPONSOR
In less than four months, we will start our transition to PeopleSoft 9.2 Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financial Management Solution (FMS). On September 1, 2018, end users will benefit from new features that will give them an enhanced, more intuitive user interface and additional self-service functionality.

As communicated on April 13, 2018, the go-live dates for the Campus Solutions project (to replace the current Banner / Assist Student Information System) will be delayed to 2019. More information can be found from the sponsor's message.

At this time, our HCM and FMS core team members have begun system testing. During this phase, our goal is to find all of the bugs and any other system or process issues so that we may address them before launching to production. This will continue to be a very busy period but we are also excited to see the full PeopleSoft functionality that will be delivered to our campus users!

Our end user training and transition plans are also making progress. For more details, please see the Training and Transition section of this newsletter below.

Last, but not least, we have also made progress on our cutover plans. Cutover is the period before go-live in which we will seize to process transactions in our legacy environment (Oracle EBS) and begin to execute our processes in PeopleSoft. As part of this planning, our teams will be communicating important deadlines that will help avoid delays in providing important services to our campus users, such as purchases and hiring new employees. The Governance Committee has reviewed and approved the proposed dates, so soon this information will be communicated and posted on our PeopleSoft website.

As always, we want to hear from you about any questions, suggestions or concerns. This can be done through the Contact Us form on our website (located here ) or by sending an email to peoplesoft@utrgv.edu

Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter!

Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration

PROGRAM TIMELINE
Our program timeline is in the process of being updated due to the shift in the Campus Solutions project go-live dates. However, the go-live date for Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financial Management Solutions (FMS) is still September 1, 2018.

TRAINING AND TRANSITION
Training is an integral part of our program. We have drafted a curriculum with target dates so that users may begin making plans to attend. This information can be found on our website:

Once we are ready for users to register, we will communicate to the campus. Please note that not all training will take place in a classroom with live instruction. Online resources will also be leveraged as a way to provide training in an on-demand and self-paced format. The delivery methods will vary depending on the complexity of the materials and the number of participants.

We also continue to work with our team of PeopleSoft Super Users for every college and office across UTRGV. This group will be part of a support system for end users once we are live in PeopleSoft. Most of these individuals are already advanced users in our current system, Oracle EBS, and are very familiar with current processes. They will receive advanced training in PeopleSoft and on process changes, so they may assist end users within their college or office.
