Blackboard System Upgrade
Dec. 22, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Blackboard engineers will be performing a system upgrade to Blackboard Learn on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. CST to Friday, December 22 at 12:00 p.m. During this time, you will experience an interruption of services. This upgrade will deliver better learning management system functionalities and new features. For more information on this upgrade, please visit our Spring 2018 Blackboard Upgrade website.

Results: System upgrade completed successfully. No issues reported after this maintenance.

Blackboard Emergency System Maintenance
November 18 - 19, 2017

Blackboard engineers performed emergency data center maintenance to Blackboard Learn on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 11:00 p.m. to Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:47 a.m. During this time, users experienced an interruption of services. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Blackboard Assessments Issue - Update
September 9, 2017 @ 7 a.m.

All issues that were affecting users while taking assessments in Blackboard have been fixed. You may complete now any scheduled quiz/exam. Please contact our Helpdesk if you encounter any problems to submit your tests. We apologize for the inconvenience that this issue may have caused.

Blackboard Emergency System Maintenance
September 8, 2017

Blackboard engineers will be performing an emergency system upgrade to Blackboard Learn on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. During this time, you will experience an interruption of services. This maintenance will improve the learning management system performance and functionality.

It is not recommended to begin or complete a quiz/exam during this maintenance window as you may be kicked out of Blackboard and your quiz/exam.

Resource Not Found Error
August 15, 2017; Resolved August 16 @ 12:00 PM

We are currently experiencing an issue with some courses receiving a “Resource Not Found” error. Our team is actively working with Blackboard Technicians to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

RESOLVED: Blackboard Support has just informed us that the issue with courses receiving a “Resource Not Found” error has been resolved. If you are still unable to access your courses, please submit a support case at UTRGV.edu/coltthelp. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. 

Blackboard Mobile Learn End of Life
August 1, 2017

Blackboard Mobile Learn will be removed from App Stores on August 1, 2017 and support is scheduled to end on August 31, 2017. If you are using Mobile Learn, please make the switch to the new Blackboard apps.

Blackboard Enrollment Issues

We are aware of a course enrollment issue that is affecting most system users. You may experience courses missing in Blackboard. We are working to resolve this issue, and you should see your enrolled courses in about 1-2 hours. Please contact our Helpdesk if you still do not see your correct courses. COLTT Streaming Server Unavailable
Tuesday, June 20, 2017; Resolved 10:30 AM

Our COLTT streaming server is currently experiencing intermittent problems. We are working with the Information Technology (IT) department to resolve this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.

IT Planned Outage
Sunday, June 11, 2017; 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Access to Blackboard will not be affected by the IT planned outage scheduled for Sunday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You can still log in to Blackboard at mycourses.utrgv.edu.

NOTE: Do to the type of maintenance being performed, users logging on from the Edinburg, McAllen, South Padre Island, and Rio Grande City campuses will not be able to access Blackboard during this maintenance window. For more information on the planned outage, view the IT Service Alert

Blackboard System Maintenance
June 8 & 9, 2017; 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

On June 8 & 9, 2017 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Blackboard engineers will be performing maintenance at their internal datacenter. While we anticipate no interruption in service as a result of the work, we cannot entirely rule out brief periods of intermittent connectivity as network traffic adjusts, or quick restart of services if warranted. We will make all efforts to keep service disruption, if any, within the window to a minimum. Feel free to contact the COLTT Help Desk for any assistance at (956) 882-6792 or (956) 665-5327.

It is not recommended to begin or complete an exam during this maintenance window as you may be kicked out of Blackboard and your exam.

Blackboard Login may be affected by IT Planned Network Outage
Wednesday, May 24, 2017; 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Blackboard login services may be interrupted due to an IT planned network outage scheduled for today, May 24th, from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Some users may encounter problems when attempting to login to my.utrgv.edu or mycourses.utrgv.edu. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

SafeAssign Experiencing High Paper Load
April 25, 2017 to May 12, 2017

SafeAssign is experiencing high submissions load that might lead to delays in paper processing time. Delays can be up to 8 hours or more. The Blackboard Support team is working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience these delays are causing and recommend to submit your assignment(s) only one time and wait for the report to be generated.

Blackboard Course Enrollment Issues
April 24, 2017

Blackboard Cloud Partner Connection Issues
April 19, 2017

On April 19th Blackboard engineers reported connectivity issues with Cloud Partner Providers. This includes third party software such as Respondus Lockdown Browser, McGraw-Hill, and Tegrity.

COLTT Streaming Server Migration
April 11, 2017 to April 17, 2017

COLTT and IT will be performing an emergency server migration to our video streaming server. During this time, you will experience an interruption of services.

Results: Server migration completed successfully. No issues reported after this maintenance.
