New Program Development Team Welcomes Ideas
Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
Development of innovative new programs is critical for UTRGV to fulfill its mission of transforming the Rio Grande Valley, the Americas, and the World. New academic, research, and community engagement programs are needed for UTRGV to expand educational opportunities for students and the community, increase enrollment, foster economic development in the region, and become an emerging research university. I am pleased to inform you that UTRGV has now developed a formal process for the review and development of all new programs from idea capture to establishment. The process begins with the submission of a new program idea to the Office of Executive Vice President for Research, Graduate Studies and New Program Development that continuously solicits, captures, and receives new program ideas from the campus community including faculty, staff, students, deans, VPs, EVPs, DP, and the President, and coordinates reviews of all new program ideas and/or proposals. The office also assists with all aspects of proposal development including market analysis, student demand assessments, re-evaluating existing programs, library resources, CIP codes, marketable skills, employment statistics, UTRGV data, and full budget development.
Please explore the following links to learn about UTRGV’s New Program Development process and submit your idea for a new program today. We look forward to receiving your ideas for new programs and collaborating with you in turning your innovative ideas into a reality.
