UTRGV STEMS Fun Run rescheduled for Nov. 7

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS – NOV. 4, 2015 -- The 16th annual STEMS 5K and Three 1-Mile Run/walk originally scheduled for Oct. 24 has been moved to Saturday, Nov. 7 due to inclement weather.

The STEMS Fun Run is part of the second annual Rio Grande Valley Science and Arts Festival (RiSA).

“We realize the run is the same day as RiSA. However, we've been in talks with RiSA Program Director Joey Key, and we will be able to attract a huge group to the university and inform them about RiSA, sending more people to Community Day,” said Brittney Mendez, STEMS Mentor Club president and race director.

This gives participants ample time to also participate in the Rio Grande Valley Science and Arts Festival’s second annual Community Day, which will take place later in the day at Linear Park.
