Projects
Professional Development Activities:
The Academy provides a great variety of themes and formats that may include workshops about how to research effectively for funding sources, how to draft investigation proposals, panels about efficient management of a research group, techniques for the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students, and forums related to the investigative culture.
Social Activities:
The Research Academy includes social gatherings with the purpose of promoting and fomenting collaborations, effective communication, the discussion of ideas and bonding between investigators.
Mentoring Program:
This program matches the new faculty members or faculty that wish to be reinserted in the research activities of the UPRM with successful, experimented in investigation faculty. The mentor advises and directs the mentee through the reading and editing of proposals, scientific articles, course plans, and in other matters that can help the mentee to advance in his or her academic career. The mentoring process has demonstrated to create a notorious impact on mentees, because it assists faculty to be exposed to areas that benefit them professionally and that help them understand the process of funding obtention and results dissemination much more easily. We look forward that at the end of the program, the participant will acquire experience, the necessary tools and the confidence to be even more successful in research matters.
