The Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program (TexPREP) provides students the opportunity to develop a passion for engineering and a stronger foundation in science and mathematics by exposing them to current research and student lab facilities, preparing them through interactions with faculty and college students, and inspiring them with hands on activities in a university environment!

Who We Are Now

The Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program (TexPREP) provides a challenging academic program designed to motivate and prepare middle and high school students for success in advanced studies leading to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). TexPREP includes a seven-week summer program and additional enrichment activities throughout the academic year. The program offers a highly structured curriculum and fosters higher order thinking skills and innovation. Students have the opportunity to collaborate with their peers and with professionals in the fields of STEM, while experiencing a university environment and culture. The program is accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), and students earn one-unit elective credit for every year they successfully complete in the program.
