Director's Welcome

We are pleased that you are interested in becoming a psychiatrist and are considering our program.

Our program offers a range of activities associated with a diverse set of clinical institutions that provides a challenging, comprehensive and stimulating educational experience. There is a strong emphasis on prevention, early intervention, community based experiences and outpatient work.

This educational experience is designed to produce knowledgeable and skilled psychiatrists who are passionate about caring for children, adolescents, adults and families as clinicians, teachers, researchers and advocates.

As a new program, there are multiple opportunities for residents to participate in the development and implementation of

  • educational
  • clinical
  • scholarly programs
  • working with underserved populations
  • community based systems

The area is close to the beach, a haven for those who do not like temperatures below 50 and has a community that is diverse, vibrant, safe and friendly with excellent schools and recreational activities.

The program is accredited by the American Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We start recruiting in the fall of each year with a July start of the Psychiatry Residency Program.

Please explore our website and program. Let us know if you have any questions.
