Teaching Large Online Courses

About the Workshop

The demand for online courses keeps increasing, so we must keep up with that demand. The Center for Online Learning and Teaching Technology has offered workshops to assist faculty in the development of pedagogical methods to alleviate the challenge of teaching large online courses. Now, faculty can receive assistance in managing their large online courses by requesting an Academic Coach. This allows faculty to focus their time and resources on the delivery of the course curriculum.

COLTT provides professional development, as well as course development support to faculty wanting to participate. To qualify for an Academic Coach in your course/s, the faculty member will need to:

Undergrad and Graduate Online Courses:

  1. Teach a large online course that meets the enrollment criteria below.
  2. Complete the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Workshop.
  3. Complete the Teaching Large Online Course – self-paced workshop or have completed a Blueprint Workshop.
  4. Submit the Academic Coach Request Form.
Note: The Academic Coach Request form closes two weeks before a new semester/term starts and re-opens two weeks after the semester/term started.

Accelerated Courses (Module format):

  1. No training is required.
