School of Music offers undergraduate degrees in music in the areas of performance and education (teacher certification). The graduate program has three concentrations in music: music education, performance, and ethnomusicology. For majors and students who are non-majors there are opportunities to participate in Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Band, Mariachi, Salsa Latin Band, and many other ensembles. These ensembles are offered each semester and perform on and off campus.
The School of Music Faculty are highly skilled and knowledgeable individuals who strive for excellence and offer the best education. They set high standards and expectations to help students reach goals and be competitive in the valley and beyond. We expect students to do their best, set their goals high, and embrace challenges and new ideas. To reiterate the words of Dr. Havidan Rodriguez’ “as administration, faculty, and students we have three main goals communication, cooperation, and collaboration.”
